HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS
: Homework is a big part of your grade.
You should do your homework regularly. Homework assignments of the current week
are due on the following Friday. Each assignment is worth 2 points. Assignments
with answers only without work get zero point. NO LATE
ASSIGNMENTS ARE ACCEPTED.
SUPPLIES:
A loose leaf notebook with sections for notes, worksheets, homework and
tests/quizzes.
Pencils/pens.
A scientific or graphing calculator
ATTENDANCE:
Good attendance is a
critical factor to ensure success in this course. If you must be absent,
make up the work as soon as possible. It is YOUR responsibility to find
out what work you missed and make it up.
Should you be absent for a field trip or appointment, please advise me
about the absence as soon as possible BEFORE it occurs, so that I can give
you any materials you might need to complete your work on time.
BE IN CLASS ON TIME.
Failure to do so will result in detentions. When the bell rings you should
be in your seat, discussing your homework with your group.
HOMEWORK
Homework assignments will be given every night.
(See homework assignment sheet for specifics)
Homework assignments of the current week will be due on Friday of the
following week. Have them ready to turn in at the beginning of the
period. A complete homework will receive 2 points, incomplete 1 point.
No work no credit!
EXTRA
HELP:
I'm available for math help in the morning or after school but you
must arrange with me ahead of time. Look for me in room 213 or the math
office. A big source of help is the math center, where a math teacher is
on duty almost every period. Take advantage of these great opportunities
to get help.
Remember, your success is a direct result of your classroom attitude
and the expectations you set for yourself. When you assume that you
can't solve a problem and do not give it your best effort, your grades
will reflect as such. If you believe in your ability and feel confident
and determined when solving problems, your grades will likewise reflect
as such. Strict attention to detail and a persistent "never
quit" attitude are essential to success in mathematics class.
Persist in the course regardless of any difficulties that might arise.
Decide now that you will work your hardest and not settle for less than
your best.
BOOKS:
Take GOOD care of them.
Cover your book right away and keep it covered all year.
You will be given an opportunity now to note any previously done
damage. In June your book will be
checked carefully and you will be charged for any damage not originally noted
by you.
