My friends

A look at some of the people who are closest to me. And some of my family members I get on least badly with.

Rachael Healey – The voice of reason in an otherwise drunken world

I met Rachael in Hamble too. She’s stopped me doing some really dumb things, even though they would have been really entertaining to watch. She’s always ready to have some fun, and talk to you if you’re pissed off. The thing I like best about her is her sense of humour. It’s a lot like mine, but more sensible.

Hana Turek – She’s Welsh. And she’s kinda short.

I met Hana at college, she was in Charlie’s tutor on the first day, and didn’t have anyone around that she knew. A little while after she started hanging around with us Mike came along. She’s the person I talk to most about my relationship with Kate, usually on the Monday mornings that we have off together. And she tells me stuff about Mike, but I’m not allowed to tell him that! I like her because she’s honest, and Welsh.

Oli Jacobs – Long term inseparable companion

For a long time at Hamble there was only one person who would talk to me, and that was Oli. Sure, we had the odd disagreement, but we were always mates. Right from the first day of Hamble, teachers kept getting our names mixed up, until eventually most of them gave up and just called us “Samandoli”. The thing I like best about him is his sense of humour, a perfect complement to mine. He was like Vic Reeves, and I was Bob Mortimer. He was Eric Morecambe and I was Ernie Wise. You get the idea. Best mate I ever had.
