A look at some of the people who are closest to me. And some of my family members I get on least badly with.
Again, I met Adam in Hamble school. He’s another guy who loves a laugh.
His best mate is Mat, and we’ve always been worried about those two. Yes it is
possible for two guys to just be too close.
Adam has developed an interest in military history that has given me many hours
of interesting conversation, but his fascination with weaponry is somewhat
disturbing. The most we’ve ever done is buy him a toy gun or two for Christmas,
but he’s intent on getting something that can actually kill something. God help
us all.
Oh yes, Beans lack of drinking stamina is the source of many a joke and cheerful anecdote amongst the group. I met Bean at about the same time as Adam and Mat, at Hamble school. Bean has never given up his endless (and fruitless) pursuit of women, but whenever he gets close, something just goes wrong for the poor guy. Ah well mate, at least you still have beer. It doesn’t judge you, it likes you for who you are! I might have to put up a list of reasons why beer is better than women (but not Kate) just to cheer him up a bit.
I’ve known Charlie longer than I’ve known myself. We’ve always gone to the same school as each other, but only about halfway through Hamble did we become friends. Charlie is one of the funniest people in the world when she wants to be, and occasionally just by accident (a page of Charlietisms was included on Vicky’s site before it closed). I always know if I really need to talk about anything Charlie will listen. She probably won’t understand, but at least she’ll listen (only kidding, please don’t kill me!). She’s one of the easiest people to wind up in the world, and this is a great hobby of mine. Sometimes she stops talking to me. But then she forgets to ignore me and carries on like nothing happened.
