Random Poetry

"She's a poet and don't know it
With a rhyme every time."

Here are my random attempts at poetry & freestyle rap. It takes a lot to make me write a poem, so these are choice little morsels of pain and distress.

Farmer John Turns Vegetarian--an impromptu poem written as filler text for a graphic I was making for a poetry anthology in 8th grade. My English teacher wouldn't give me my grade until I gave her a legible copy of the poem in the graphic.

Dental Distress--written after a rigorus teeth cleaning from less than gentle dental hygenist. Since this cleaning descibed in the Poe-inspired poem, I've had an experience twice as horrible. And that's the tooth.

Jasmine's Rotten Soup Haikus--When a classmate left her spoiled potato soup in the trashcan next to my desk, I was inspired to write many haikus about it on the chalkboard. Here are a few...leftovers.

Megga B. Last Words--a rap included in Meghan's Life Story as her hip-hop alter-ego's dying words.

Meat Rap--a rap composed in 5 minutes, commissioned for speech class, about my favorite food: meat. Vegetarians and vegans, click at your own risk.

Notecard in the Rain--my 8th grade attempt at writing a country song, inspired by a soggy notecard (as would be found in a research paper project) that was seen outside of my friend's house one day. I wrote the first verse and chorus, and asked one of my friends to help me finish it, so she an another friend wrote the last two verses while carpooling home together.
