A two part look at the effect of the military mindset and war itself on Vietnam era Marines.
The first half follows a group of recruits in basic traing and the second follows one of those recruits - Joker, covering the War as a correspondant for Stars And Stripes, focusing on the Tet offensive
The ending is rather empty but in this case that is good because the film does not show the end of the war and after all it was not fought over a weekend
