The Upstarts were the fast and loose brain child of Freddy Lynn, who defected from his own team to found the franchise.  Though the team would last only one season it featured many a future SSL baller, and started many a controversy.  Legend has it, Fred brought out "ringers" such as former New York Yankee center fielder Roberto Kelly... Clipper Andrew Sosa began his SSL record consecutive game streak as a 16 yr old member of the Upstarts.  Naturally, he played in every game of their short lived existance...
