Teacher-Student Center: Student Guidance and Counseling:
With the increase in the number of students and because of inadequate co-curricular pursuits available to them in Halls, the need was felt for an organized program of student guidance counseling. To meet the situation a Division of Students Affairs was formed in 1961 with a Director at its head. This division was later integrated into the Teacher-Student Center. The construction of the building for the Center, which began in 1962, was completed in 1966 and from this time student activity of the Center started.
The Teacher-Student Center is a complex building, providing a wide variety of recreational and cultural facilities. The Center includes among other things a cafeteria, an auditorium, a library, a reading room, art and music rooms and stage. A swimming pool, a provision store, a bookshop and a bank are facilities of the Center. The auditorium, the largest in the city is for academic conferences, both national and international.
