Every community has a lady, who acts as 'The Local Matchmaker', who has a folder of what are more commonly known as bio-data, all of which either say "looking for tall, fair, pretty girl for my engineer son", or say "My daughter is very good looking, she can cook and loves to go for long drives, we are looking for a Doctor for her" . The Local Matchmaker, rarely ever speaks to the person looking to get married and applies a hit or miss approach by trying to lump everyone together.
Problems with Internet matrimonial
The following are the problems with Internet matrimonial:
1. You really do not the person who is writing to you, you may or may not respond
2. You may be are hesitant to contact someone, and keep on putting it off.
3. Time is wasted when several emails are exchanged before you actually get to talk to the person over the phone, which may never lead to an actual meeting.
4. There is a certain embarrassment if one of family is not interested after the meetings.
5. The matrimonial web sites really do not provide an interactive service, besides allowing you to post your information or view someone else's information.
