Super Saiyan Stages

Non Super Saiyan -The common characteristics of a non super saiyan are that the the hair is black. The muscles usually don't buldge very much either. The eye color is usually black also. Trunks is the only exception to these guidelines due to the fact that his Mother, Bulma, had blue hair and eyes,and his father, Vegeta, had black hair and eyes. Therefore, he was born with purple hair and blue eyes. All people with even the smallest amount of saiyan blood within them have these characteristics. With this saiyan blood flowing through their veins, they have the ability to become super saiyans. They also have the ability to use ki easier than the humans do, since it is in there nature.

Oozaru -Oozaru isn't a Super Saiyan form but it's another form saiyans can take. Saiyans can only turn Oozaru at the sight of a full moon and if they have a tail. If they don't have either one, they cannot turn Oozaru. When in Oozaru form, they're power multiplys 10x. The characteristics of Oozaru are, they are enormous in size, have dark brown fur all over they're body, , they're body look like a gorilla's and they're head looks like a wolve's.

Golden Oozaru -Golden Oozaru is exactly like Oozaru only that the fur is golden and they're power is alot greater. They can only turn golden Oozaru after turning SS3. This is sort of a link to becoming SS4.

Super Saiyan 1 -Super Saiyan level 1 can only be acheived through extreme anger and having a pure herat of good or evil. Goku is the first to do this in the Frieza saga. Frieza kills Krillin, Goku's best friend and Goku saw it all happen, he got so pissed that he turned Super Saiyan. The common characteristics of Super Saiyan level 1 are that the hair turns golden yellow, and goes on end, the eyebrows turn golden yellow as well. The eyes turn blue green, and the muscles buldge. THere speed increases considerally and the gain more strength. The following saiyans acheived super saiyan, in order from first to last: Goku, Trunks, Vegeta, Gohan, Chibi Trunks, Goten.

Ultra Super-saiyan(USSJ)- This Saiyan form is almost the same as a regular Super Saiyan, but the muscles are extremely big (about as big as Frieza's when he uses 100% of his power!) and is much more powerful. The drawbacks to going Ultra Super Saiyan (Ascended Super Saiyan in FUNimation version) is that there speed decreases, making them more vulnerable. The first person ever to achieve this stage is Vegeta, Trunks, then Goku, during the Cell Saga.

Super Saiyan 2 -Super Saiyan 2 is almost exactly like Super Saiyan 1. The only differences are that the hair gets slightly longer and get a bit pointier, the muscles buldge a bit more, and they get alot stronger. Their speed increases more than the previous forms too. The following saiyans acheived super saiyan 2, in order from first to last: Gohan, Vegeta (when posessed by Majin), then Goku.

Super Saiyan 3 -Super Saiyan 3 is the strongest form of Super Saiyan in DBZ. The hair remains golden, but get's extremely long, all the way down the Saiyans back. The eyebrow's disappear, and the muscle's also buldge out alot more. Their speed increases greatly too. The following saiyans acheived super saiyan 3, in order from first to last: Goku and Gotenks(see Type's of fusion).

Super Saiyan 4 -Super saiyan 4 is the ultimate super saiyan form, only seen in Dragonball GT. The hair goes back to black and isn't so long anymore. Some hair stays on end while the other falls down the saiyans neck and over their shoulders. The eyes also turn back to black but are rimmed with yellow, along with a red rim around the saiyans eye. They grow a red fur over they're body except for the chest, head, neck, and fists. The saiyan's tail also grows back if at anytime it was pull out. They are very strong and the muscles are slightly bulkier. The following saiyans acheived super saiyan 4, in order from first to last: Goku, Vegeta, Gogeta(see type's of fusion).
