Ryoko is a very complicated character and is easily misunderstood. She's pretty, stubborn, rude, selfish and unpredictable, but she'll do anything to save her friends in times of need. She has a soft side that she hides from everyone. The girl is madly in love with Tenchi in all three series. Although she always fights with Ayeka, they are best friends.
Tenchi Muyo!: Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki were created by Washu, the 'greatest scientific genius in the universe'. Using mass (exlpained in the Cabbit profile) and one of her egg cells, Washu created Ryoko. Ryoko was used like a tool by the evil space pirate Kagato, thus making her evil actions not her own. 700 years ago, Ryoko attacked Jurai, nearly distroying the planet. Yosho chased Ryoko to Earth where he then defeated her by embedding her power (gems) in his sword, Tenchi-ken, and then sealed her in a cave at a Shinto shrine. Ryoko and Ayeka have a history that goes back to when they were children on Jurai. Ryoko's power comes from three gems; one on her neck and one on either of her wrists. With all three, she's nearly invincible and would be able to create ten light hawk wings (after she matures, of course). She can call demons (requiring one gem), communicate with Ryo-Ohki, control the demons she calls (two gems, both wrists), fly, teleport to places she's been, pass through walls, shoot engery balls, and even create an energy sword. The gems are not of this dimension and cannot be recreated, but she was able to create a less powerful one which was almost done when Tenchi Masaki stumbled into her cave and let her out. Ryo-Ohki is her ship and friend. Her love for Tenchi stems from watching him grow up while she was in her astro body and was the only one to sense his royal Jurai blood.
Tenchi Universe: Her archrival is Nagi, but she ALWAYS fights with Ayeka over Tenchi. They go back to when they were children. She falls madly in love with Tenchi and decided to live at the Masaki home. Did I mention she was a space pirate?
Tenchi in Tokyo: She and Washu stole the Jurai Lightstone and were pulled down to Earth by Tenchi's mother's gems. He cared for her when she was injured, and Ryoko fell in love with him.
