Welcome Message from President
Dare to be Unique!
Good morning/afternoon/evening surfers
Let me take this opportunity as the President of West Coast Toastmasters Club to
welcome you to our Club and our Website.
What is toastmasters? There are many ways you can define it. It can be
crudely defined as public speaking, which is not incorrect, but there is
more to it.
Many people are in toastmasters to develop
their communication and leadership skills. Why you may ask?
Let me reverse the question. Do you want to
get shortlist for that interview? Do you want to close that sales pitch? Do
you want that promotion? And finally for some of you do you want to be able
to effectively evaluate your subordinates without people too nice or
critical? If you answer yes to any one of those questions you are a fool not
to join toastmasters and seek alternate methods.
For a nominal fee of 1
time payment of $150.00 for new members,
which include materials from Toastmasters International, and a subsequent
renewal fee of $120.00 annually. You can have access to over 100 other
clubs in Singapore to visit.
Try going to a workshop for a few days and
you will easily blow up a few thousand dollars to listen to a trainer and
once the course is over it is over. In Toastmasters there is no such thing.
Once a toastmaster you are always a toastmaster and always have access to a
world of friends who want to see you succeed.
In Toastmasters while there are trainers to
help you there is no such thing as sitting in a classroom and listening to
lectures. We all learn by doing which includes answering questions on the
spot, giving evaluations and delivering a speech which is only one segment
of a host of activities.
I want to conclude that I am here to help and
guide you through the services provided by my executive committee members.
Do go through the website to have a better understanding of what toastmasters is all about and if you have any queries you are welcome to drop an e-mail to me or my executive committee members.
Happy Surfing!
