August 200827th August 2008 Still, there's good things going on too! My lovely sis had her baby at the beginning of the month. My new niece is already spoiled rotten and as the only girl after 7 boys, it's about time I was able to buy pink things! I'm liking Katy Perry's "I kissed a girl", having time off work, spending some time with my doggies and we're off on hols on Saturday. Don't know where we're going yet, nothing's booked, but we're going nevertheless! We've been going along to the Quiz Night at our local pub on a Tuesday evenings. That's been good fun! Graham and Lynda came with us last night, our team was in second place overall! I've been using my time off creatively. I have made baby cards for Helen with pictures of my new niece and I have also made some birthday cards which will come in useful! I spent some time researching my family tree. That was quite interesting; most of my ancestors were stone masons and general labourers.
May 20089th May 2008 Alwyn and I went to Cork in March, where we watched "Ireland fail to keep up with the Joneses" as one Irish Newspaper put it. We had tickets to the Wales v France game - the last in the series for this year. Optimistically, Alwyn and I had "Grand Slam 2008" t-shirts printed, we wore them to the match and were proud to shout and show them off. Well done, Wales! We went to Budapest at the end of March, which was great fun. It's a lovely city and we loved the thermal baths. We also visited the City Zoo; see Alwyn's tiger experience!
I often think of random things that I could talk about on this web page. Unfortunately, by the time I actually get time to edit this page I have forgotten what incident amused/annoyed me sufficiently to make me want to write about it. Doh! January 200817th January 2008
Last year I got to the stage where I really disliked going to the gym. I know I should go, it's good for me. However, I hated paying 30 per month for the membership. I hated feeling obliged to go because I was paying 30 per month. I hated the pretentious, perma-tanned people in their designer tracksuits. I hated the changing rooms. I could go on. Anyway, that was the basis of my first New Year Resolution and I have stuck with it so far! During December last year, I got so stressed and disorganised that I actually didn't send Christmas cards to many of my close colleagues and friends. I managed to send out Christmas cards to my relatives and friends living further away, but I did scribble them in 10 minutes during a working lunch break. My apologies to any one who received a completely illegible card - it was from me! On the basis of this outstanding example of disorganisation I decided that it would be good to communicate with the important people on a more regular basis than a hastily scrawled Christmas card, hence Resolution Two. Resolution three is obvious. I am one of the world's best procrastinators. I teach time management to my students, I have studied it myself, I still procrastinate .... ah well, tomorrow is another day!!!! 18th January 2008 Last updated: 21st February 2009 Contact me!
