Our Credo

Seekers of the Pagan path are often extremely vulnerable.  In their quest for teaching and fellowship, they risk encountering those who use our faith to prey on others.  In this document, “seekers” is used to signify anyone of the pagan faith, including students, teachers, groups as a whole, and Sacred Crossroads members of all levels as well.

  1. We believe that seekers have the right to Verify Credentials.  No one shall be obstructed from contacting persons who can substantiate or disavow claims made by a group or teacher.  In the case of elders who were inspired to create a tradition, the seeker has a right to know the circumstances surrounding the inception of that tradition.  Anyone teaching or performing for/at/with Sacred Crossroads should be prepared to present such information.
  2. We believe that seekers have the right to Anonymity.  Everyone has the right to keep their involvement in the occult a secret in order to preserve their personal and professional lives.  Anonymity should not, however, be used to impede the investigation of credentials.
  3. We believe that seekers have the right to Financial Stability.  No one shall be required or coerced to take on financial burdens on behalf of a teacher or group.  Tithing is strictly prohibited; donations and fair membership fees shall be the only method of monetary collections.
  4. We believe that seekers have the right to Compensation for Professional Goods and Services.  Everyone has the right to be paid for goods produced or services rendered for which they would normally receive an income.  Seekers shall not be required or coerced to provide “freebies” or discounts, and shall be duly listed as sponsors or supporters should they choose to donate their products or services.
  5. We believe that seekers have the right to Sexual Freedom.  No one shall be required or coerced into sexual relations with unwanted persons.  Any teacher or group requiring such as means of initiation or manipulation shall be unwelcome within Sacred Crossroads.
  6. We believe that seekers have the right to Physical Well-Being.  No one shall be required or coerced to submit to any form of physical injury.
  7. We believe that seekers have the right to Abide by the Law.  No one shall be required or coerced to commit an illegal act.  Any teacher or group requiring illegal acts (such as the ingesting of drugs, stealing of goods, etc) shall be unwelcome within Sacred Crossroads.
  8. We believe that seekers have the right to Consistency.  Everyone can expect consistent policies from a teacher or group.  Everyone should be formally informed in a timely manner of any policy changes by Sacred Crossroads or affiliates.
  9. We believe that seekers have the right to Separation without Impunity.  Everyone has the right to discontinue associations with any teacher or group without fear of harassment or reprisal.
  10. We believe that seekers have the right to be at Peace with One’s Conscience.  No one shall be required or coerced to commit any action contrary to their own sense of ethics and morality.
  11. We believe that seekers have the right to Freedom of Expression of Opinion.  Everyone has the right to voice their concerns in a respectful manner.  This does not override others’ right to be free of hatred of all kinds, and also does not override Sacred Crossroads' staff’s right not to be abused.
