Hoo did have prior warning -- program staff 'fessed up to the stunt shortly before he took the chair -- but that didn't temper the look of horror on his face when introduced to Dan. 1 July 2002 Mirabai & Dan Dan Freeman watched in dismay as girlfriend Mirabai Peart got together first with early evictee Damian, then intruder Brodie. After that he refused to watch Big Brother. Dan was angry and says he "shut it out", but soon realised he missed her and was looking forward to their reunion. "She's not going to be the same, which is kinda sad," he laments. "But I want to be there for her." NW predicts: After another short-lived fling with Damian, Mirabai will get back on the roller-coaster with Dan, at least for a while. Event Location: The Crest Hotel, Princes Hwy Sylvania 12 June 2002 Mira's Kiss Off Initially, there was nothing unusual about Mirabai�s guest appearance on Rove Live last night. After a quick chat, in which the prying host forced Mira to name her least favourite housemate (under duress she named Alex, but showed no malice towards him), conversation inevitably turned to her romantic pursuits. Mira revealed to Rove that she has broken up with her pre-BB boyfriend Dan, but said she did so not after her eviction, but before she even set foot in the BB house. Why she didn�t mention this fact during the teary Dan-pining sessions that occupied her time in the house between romantic romps with Damo and Brodie is anyone�s guess. Either way, it appears she and Dan are no longer. Rove then informed Mirabai that she was be a participant in a kissing contest. Mira was blindfolded and Brodie, then Damo, planted awkward kisses on her lips. Mira appeared decidedly underwhelmed by the efforts of both her former tonsil-hockey partners. She easily guessed which kiss was from which suitor, rendering the whole blindfold business was superfluous. Almost by default, she awarded the gong to Damo because his kiss lingered longer. It appears Brodie left his extensive charisma at home last night. 11 June 2002 Rove Live Mirabai once again confirmed for Australia's public that Dan and her were NOT together before going into the BB House. Mirabai was also reunited with Brodie and Damo. She had not seen or talked to Brodie before Rove and had to pick which boy she wanted. After being blindfolded and kissed by both boys, she announced Damo as the winner with his "lingering" kiss! 10 June 2002 Mirabai and Damo were reunited on BB Live Nominations tonight. They also played footage of Mirabai when she was 6 years old playing the violin. 9 June 2002 Mirabai Makes It Outside Did you feel young in there? Yeah, a lot. In a few different ways: One, relationships; Two, they would talk about movies and sing songs that I�d never heard about before; Three, I think humour sometimes. Were you worried about what the public might think of you because you were with two different blokes? It crossed my mind. This is how I thought about it. When you�re outside in the normal world, you get involved with someone, you mosey on for a few weeks and if you meet someone else that�s okay. People don�t question that too much. Did you consider not going there? With Brodie I thought about not even expressing feelings. But you had a crush on him... I had a huge crush on him and he was doing my head in. I couldn�t stand it � it was horrible. I hadn�t thought way about for a long time. I figured I was pretty easy to read and I can�t lie and I figured, why don�t I just let it out. Why not just let people know and let him know. In that house you can�t really hide anything and there�s no point in hiding things from yourself and you�re in there to experience things so why not just let things flow. That�s one thing that I�ve learnt � just let things flow. The Damian thing was a bit different because he really seemed to chase you. Did you feel like he was stalking you a bit? No, because I liked it. I really liked him a lot and I didn�t know how to deal with it. I was so attracted to him right from the beginning. When he came out of the car with his funky glasses and his guitar I went �Oh shit!� I didn�t mind how up front he was about how much he liked me but I wasn�t really ready to start anything then. And when I was, he left and that pissed me off. 4 June 2002 (Day 59) Mira said she doesn't have the body for modelling either and she's fine with that. 4 June 2002 Mirabai: The Quiet Achiever? Brodie says Mirabai is actively "involved in all the house has to offer." He�s unsurprised by her popularity within the house. "Basically, she isn't as much of a threat to the leaders of the house as the now evicted, dominant people were. To me, she displayed the qualities that I look for in people I hold close to me in the real world: an inner beauty as well as outer one". Shannon aggrees. "She might come across as boring on television, in comparison to the louder people like me or Nathan, but emotionally and spiritually, she is absolutely electric. Anyone can cook and clean, but not many people can move people with music. Her angelic glow resonated through the house every time she played, affecting all of us deeply. Mirabai is what a lot of us want to be - pure, calm and earthed." Mira�s on/off boyfriend in the real world, Dan, says her lackadaisical approach to household chores is part of her creative make-up. "She�s a crazed genius," he said. "She�s such a bright person with a flair for performing, but because she was brought up in an alternative environment, she�s not practically minded to notice things like the dishes aren�t done." Brodie also points out that she�s not in the house to entertain - she�s there to explore. "The public forgets that housemates aren't actors, they are living day-to-day lives, and need each other just as much they depend on their support groups in the real world. That was my attraction to her - a dependency, in the form of a hug, a chat or on one occasion: a kiss." 2 June 2002 (Day 56) Mira says that she likes guys who are very sociable - who have a lot of charisma. 29 April 2002 (Day 22) It's a beautiful day, we've won our task for this week, and it's all leisure. As repetitive and draining as it was, looming pulled me out of the pain I was feeling about Damian's absence. Damians eviction brought up a lot of things for me. I arrogantly had not believed he would leave, and was unprepared for it. Once he had left, I only realized how important he was to me, and how much of my mind really was thinking about him, a lot of the time! I feel the loss quite deeply still, but life goes on, I suppose. But not only did I feel that something special I had only just discovered was ripped away, a lot of my thoughts went out that gate with him into the outside world, and I began to miss everyone back at home. 28 April 2002 (Day 21) Turkan and Mirabai walk around the running track talking about boyfriends. Mirabai says that Daniel does more for her than she usually appreciates. She is too busy with her own life. She has decided to not decide what to do about him until she gets out. Aaron joins them and tells her "you've got a great outlook on life". Mirabai says it's because she's had her eyes opened by talking to people like him. Mirabai flirts with Aaron giving him an air kiss and then leaves him to walk with Turkan. 22 April 2002 First fling! First pics of Damian and Murabai's passionate kiss - will they be the first BB couple to shag? NW, P.18 22 April 2002 Mum Anna, 42, says while clips of her daughter may have portrayed her as "an upper class, sophisticated, classically trained, intellectual snob," Mirabai, 21, who took her violin into the house, "is just a bag of fun." Oh, Big Brother! P. 26 Who Weekly 18 April 2002 (Day 11) The heat looks like it might be back on between Damo & Mirabai. He has his arm around her and is stroking her arm while they have a bit of a deep chat about their pasts outside the house. She's told him a bit about her on/off again first and only boyfriend Dan. It seems these two went to uni together, he enrolled in the same classes as her and they had the same friends, so it's been very hard to break up properly. 17 April 2002 (Day 10) Mirabai and Damo have had "the talk" about last night. He said he meant everything that happened, even though he was drunk. She said she's not so sure she wants anything else to happen because she still loves a guy on the outside, even though she's not really thinking about him. Damo looked a bit dejected when she added: "I just want to feel free while in the house". Ignoring his face she told Damo she loved him for understanding, to which Damo ended with "that's cool". Mirabai has gone in to talk more to Damian. She said she's afraid she'll lose her ex-boyfriend's friendship if he sees what is going on with Damian in the house. She said they had a talk before they went in to the house about their freedom to do what they want but she still feels bad doing it on National TV. Damian comforts her with some kisses to the forehead. They agree to do the right thing... but what is that exactly? They agree to see what builds. Mirabai and Kat are shedding a few tears while Mirabai talks of her relationship outside the house. She said that what she and her on/off boyfriend had before she came into the house was beautiful and she thinks she may have lost control of herself momentarily with Damian last night. Welfare worker, Turkan, is offering Mira advice and explained the difference between experiencing something and really feeling it. She said that only time will if Mira and her outside boyfriend are meant to be. 16 April 2002 (Day 9) Damo and Mira are manning the bunker, passing the time with a bit of snogging and some deep & meaningful conversations. She asks him: "How did you get such a nice body"... he says "I dunno". Damo tells her: "You must know you're so gorgeous". Oh, young love. 7 April 2002 (Last Day Before Going into the BB House) I spent my last day of freedom relaxing with the people I love � those who I have been allowed to share the news with. Then I performed a gig with my band Element. A good number of my friends turned up. - Mirabai does unique exercises she calls 'Tibetans'.
