This was taken on the streets of Sorrento at a vendor's stand.
We have no shame. |

Have you ever seen a 3-wheeled truck that is comparatively smaller than a VW Bug? |

I decided one night to help a old fisherman pull in his boat. I rolled up my jeans, hopped in the water, and tried to haul in this huge boat. While the fisherman was laughing at me (I couldn't budge tis boat), I noticed a burning sensation on my foot. I looked down, and saw a little jellyfish sitting on my foot. When I went to step back, I noticed 3 others. I screamed "Jellyfish!", but the Italians had no idea what I was yelling about. Finally, one said "Medusa!!! Medusa, Medusa!" (apparently the name for jellyfish) to which my friend replied "No, not Medusa! Her name is Melissa!" Of course I freaked out because I'm highly allergic to seafood and thought I was going to die. Slight overreaction on my part, but still.
Apparently highly acidic liquids will take away the sting and nutrilize the effects of the poison. The only readiy liquid we had was obvious- everyone wanted me to pee on my foot. The night only got more interesting from there...
