Ruler: King Iago

Geography: The Dark Kingdom lies to the south of the Crimson Kingdom and the Plains of Armaak, and is mostly covered with lush greenery and forestry (although nowhere near as grand as to rival the Woodland Kingdom). It is mostly devoid of cities, instead being made up of lots of scattered, small clusters of towns and villages. This is not so say that the Kingdom does not have its cities, indeed there are some fine Brzillean cities, such as ries, Manos and of course the Kingdoms capital city, S-Plos, which lies on the south-east coast.
The reason for the Kingdom's name is twofold; first, due to its natural position in the World, the sun does not shine for long, meaning the days are shorter and the nights longer. The second reason is a consequence of the first; for as long as any Brzillean can remember, the majority of the peoples of the Kingdom have a reverse lifestyle to all other Humans, whereby they generally sleep during the day and are awake and active by night.

The Kingdoms main geographical feature is the immense Incan Forest, a subtropical jungle that remains virtually impenetrable in some areas. Some believe the Incan Forest to be the dwelling place of the Gods, while others believe it to be home to a secret faction of Nephilim. Regardless, it is actually rare for any Brzillean to venture particularly far into the Incan Forest, despite it making up approximately a quarter of the entire Kingdom.

Peoples: Of all the Kingdoms of the World, the Dark Kingdom is the least pleasant. Law has little place amongst the Brzilleans, and, a little like in the Savage Kingdom, it is often a case of the strongest (or most cunning) surviving and prospering, while those with less savvy suffer as a result. A prime example of the sort of people who populate the Dark Kingdom is that of Necromancy - the art of manipulating and raising the dead. Necromancy is outlawed in every domain bar the Dark Kingdom, and while it is not openly encouraged, nobody will suffer for practicing the malignant and grotesque craft.
Some say the reason for the cut-throat way of life in the Dark Kingdom is the kind of Nephilim who are attracted to the realm, but in truth the Dark Kingdom has always been the way it is now; the Nephilim are merely a convenient scapegoat to blame the Kingdom's poor reputation on.
Politics: Most natives of the other Kingdoms just stay clear of the Dark Kingdom, and rightly so. King Iago makes his policies very clear: the Dark Kingdom is at peace with the rest of the World, but any unauthorised trespassers within his realm are fair game. Iago, who lives by himself in his Palace apart from his Nephilim bodyguard, Guntra, is very insular and reputedly also very paranoid, which may well be the reason for his attitudes towards the rest of the World. Meanwhile, as he sits in his crumbling Palace - once a great temple to the Borldr, the God of Immortality - Iago's Kingdom degenerates unchecked, making the realm a very dangerous place to live.
The controversial Statement of Moch, proposed in 1735, stated that the Dark Kingdom should forfeit to

the other Kingdoms, and be split up amongst them as Kingdom States. The result of this was a declaration of war on all the other Kingdoms, but the matter was swiftly resolved, the Statement was abandoned, and no Kingdom has ever tried to exert any power of influence over the Brzilleans again.
