| KYC TRAINING PROGRAM KYC organised an Optimist Beginners course from 13 March to 21 March (not including 18,19,20th) in which 14 new faces were introduced to sailing. 9 sailors graduated on 21 march with certs given out by the Commodore. Another 5 more sailors need to follow up with lessons missed before they can graduate. Those graduating are: 1. Kabir Singh 2. Shaun Menezes 3. Christal Fong 4.Jackson Tan 5. Ahmad Fitri 6. | Sabah Sailing Association TRAINING PROGRAMME |

Sail'a together with MSSM organised a teacher training programme over a 3 day period during the City Day 2004 /Mike Pike regatta. The Classroom session began a day before the Regatta in which about 23 teachers from different towns of Sabah came to KYC for a sailing seminar. The day started with theory given by Leonard Chin and Ahmad Yusoff . In the afternoon, all the teachers were given a quick sailing lesson in which every teacher had a chance to be both a helm and crew in the 470 dinghy. The next day , for the Regatta, the teachers were divided into teams to assist the Race committee in running the 1.secretariat 2. Race Committee Boat (470 course and Optimist Course 3. Mark rounding boats 4. Scorers 5. General assistance. Overall the course, though short, was a quick introduction to sailing and race management . Future regattas will see their involvement to boost their skills. |
