  About Us

The South Australia Police Rangers is a community-based youth program for young people between 12 and 18 years of age. The program involves young people, adult volunteers and police working together to achieve set aims and objectives

Rangers wear a uniform and have a rank structure similar to that of the South Australia Police. The Ranger training program is based on the recruit training system for police trainees

Rangers have a State Council, jointly managed by Ranger Officers and serving police members. police members also act as liaison officers between South Australia Police Local Service Areas, Ranger Units, and community groups. All members of the South Australia Police Rangers are volunteers and all adult members are required to undergo a police check prior to joining

While the Rangers are not police officers and cannot perform police duties, their efforts are important in assisting the South Australia Police in achieving their Corporate goals
