Us The
South Australia Police Rangers is a community-based
youth program for young people between 12 and 18
years of age. The program involves young people,
adult volunteers and police working together to
achieve set aims and objectives
Rangers
wear a uniform and have a rank structure similar to that of the South Australia Police. The Ranger
training program is based on the recruit training
system for police trainees
Rangers
have a State Council, jointly managed by Ranger
Officers and serving police members. police
members also act as liaison officers between South Australia
Police Local Service Areas, Ranger Units, and
community groups. All members of the South
Australia Police Rangers are volunteers and all
adult members are required to undergo a police
check prior to joining
While
the Rangers are not police officers and cannot
perform police duties, their efforts are
important in assisting the South Australia Police
in achieving their Corporate goals
