Got Dirt!
Okay, we have the blueprints, we have the general contractor, and we have a vision.  Now you have to start moving dirt.  First we graded the lot and made things fairly level.

Then  we moved 1600 cubic yards from the back 2.5 acres up to the the front and used that to build the pad.

While we were on vacation Mike Caine fixed a sign for the Porta-Potty - "Future home of Ron & Sharon...drop in anytime.  There is a funny guy in every crowd.. 

This page is going to be  photos of dirt, the frames for the footings, and the foundation.

The real work gets started with Chuck Griffin grading the lot..all 5 acres.
Getting things wet takes a while with a little garden hose.
They never let me drive the big trucks...but you can see the beginning of the footings.

The phrase a "watched pot never boils" comes to mind....
