Ryde
Group Birthday Cakes
90 Years Old
Ryde Scout Group celebrated its 90th brithday in 2005 and to mark the occasion we held an open day at the hall together with the guides who celebrated their 40th birthday.
These two beautifully decorated birthday cakes were on display throughout the afternoon at the 90/40 Open Day. The cakes & decorations were made by our Scout Leader, Leasa Clark, and her mother, Joy. Not only did they look beautiful, they tasted great too & once cut, didn't last very long. The wild flower decorations took Joy & Leasa many evenings to make & I'm glad to say they were "rescued" before the hungry crowd attacked the cakes.
Crate
Stacking at the open day
One of the highlights of the 90/40 Birthday Open Day was the crate stacking competition when people of all ages, shapes & sizes tried to build the highest stack of crates at the same time as climbing the stack. The record for the day was 11 crates by one of the Scouts, Finn, seen here having another go later in the day to beat his own record.
