Well D'uh... what else would you expect from a religion that demands a man go against his nature and be celibate, then puts them in charge of a bunch of innocent kids...
In all fairness, I'm sure that there are many Catholic priest who are upstanding and faithful in their religion. Unfortunately, there's always going to be a few "bad apples" in the bunch, and as we all know, the media has an uncanny knack for bringing out the worst. ( I can still remember several years ago when Jimmy Swaggert was busted for propositioning a hooker.) The media seems to thrive, particularly, on religious cases. Although, I have to congratulate them in this case, for raising awareness in the general public.
There does seem to be a major need for concern about the conduct of these priest. A problem that could be easily solved, if the church would take a closer look at who they're handing these boys over too, or at least find a way to keep an eye on them. However, it doesn't seem to be a big priority within the Catholic church, made apparent by their lack of action. What concerns me most is not necessarily the priest that have already been caught, but with the sheer number of priest that have been caught. Which leads to the question... How many more are still out there?
