Welcome to VijayRumao.tk

This site mainly discusses the vocabulary needed for GRE so as to give its viewers total success in their verbal section of GRE. This site assumes that viewers have a prior knowledge of GRE, its sections(Verbal, Quantitative, Analytical) and distribution of marks as per the sections. It provides visitors with usefull tools, tips, tricks and resources so as to help its visitors in cracking the GRE(verbal section). The content presented and discussed on this site has an ability to get an average or below average student to the top in his GRE verbal given that student too agrees to work according to the directions given here.

Verbal Section an Overview.

GRE verbal section consists of 800 points mainly divided into four types of questions analogy, sentence completion, reading comprehension and antonyms. The time alloted to this section is 30 minutes and number of questions to answer is 30 i.e 60 seconds (1 minute) for each question. With so less time and so many questions it really becomes challenging for a student to give his best in the verbal section.

GRE Verbal Myths & Facts.

I have seen students saying GRE verbal section can be sacrificed by getting a good score at GRE quantitative section, but this isn't true and I can prove it to you right now. 1300/1600 at GRE is a minimum requirement for a student to enter a decent college in US. Think a person is Eienstein in his maths & gets 800/800 in his quantitative section. Now to reach a score of 1300 he has to score atleast 500 (1300-800) in his verbal section.

Getting a score of 500 may not be impossible but not at ease and Hey! this was if a person scores 800/800 in his quantitative, Well this too isn't impossible but its rare. Nobodys perfect and its possible that a person makes atleast a single mistake and ends up getting a score below 1300. Also this was the minimum requirement to enter a decent university not a good(ranking 50 to 75) or an outstanding university(ranking 1 to 50) .

Why should vocabulary be given so much of stress ?

We have already discussed the importance of the verbal section. As you know verbal section consists of three sections (Analogy, Sentence Completion, Antonyms) directly dependent on the vocabulary and one section (Reading Comprehension) which is indirectly dependent on the vocabulary. Also questions dependent on vocabulary are more reliable than those which are not i.e chances of getting a vocuablary question correct are much higher than other questions. So developing a powerfull vocabulary becomes a prime necessity to do well in GRE.
