Midtown- Albums: Save the World, Lose the Girl (2000) This is my favorite band in the whole world. I've seen them 3 times in the past 10 months. Midtown is made up of four guys from New Jersey, they met at Rutgers and started to create the wonderful rock. They rock my silly teeth out.

Dashboard Confessional- Albums: The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most (2001); The Salvation Army Romance (2000?) The name implies a band but it's really just one guy. His name is Chris Carraba and he writes really great lyrics backed with energetic acoustic guitar.

Jimmy Eat World- Albums: J.E.W. (1994); Static Prevails (1996); Clarity (1999); Bleed American (2001) Great pop/rock. I can't stop listening to it.

Ultimate Fakebook- Albums: Electric Kissing Parties (1999); This Will Be Laughing Week (2000) This is a new favorite of mine. So much fun. I am in love with Bill. He sounds like Elvis Costello.

New Found Glory- Albums: All About the Girls (1997); Nothing Gold Can Stay (1998); From the Screen to Your Stereo (1999); New Found Glory (2000) Just fun. I first heard of them when I went to a show they played with Midtown, when I was just learning about this whole world of good music that should be on the radio so that it wouldn't suck. Catchy pop-punk songs. New Found Glory won me over with their cover of the Karate Kid song "Glory of Love". If you're not sold on them, listen to that and you will like.

Elliott Smith- Albums: Roman Candle (1994); Elliott Smith (1995); Either/Or (1996?); xo (1998); figure 8 (2000) My favorite solo act. Elliott writes really good songs. Great lyrics, catchy ( I have to admit I'm a sucker for catchy), and about half the time you'll want to just give him a big hug and tell him everything will be ok after you listen to his songs.

Alkaline Trio- Rock rock rock. This is not something I would typically like. I'm not really a rock kind of girl, more like a rock with pop leanings. But Alkaline Trio writes these really great songs with great words. They word thngs really well, but in a way that I would never think of, but they work.

Tom Waits- Awesome. He has this really raspy growling voice. Sounds like he's been drinking bourbon and smoking in bars since he was 2. I wouldn't be surprised. No two songs are the same. He's got spoken word things with eerie sounds in the background, catchy songs, really different and cool instrumentation and then there's the whole Night Rider phase, him screaming into the mic with drums.

Hank Williams- I hate country. But I love Hank Williams. It's the best honky-tonk, tear in my beer, i'm so lonesome old time country there is. Died at the age of 28 (?) in the back seat of a car on the way to a show the same year his wife divorced him and he got kicked out of the Grand Ole Opry for showing up to shows drunk or not even showing up at all.

Television- Television is no longer around. Really cool garage rock from the 70's.

Manatee- An Austin band, who I happen to be friends with. But I used to like it not so much and I'm starting to really like them. It's really hard for me to classify them, but how about rock with emo/punk/metal influences. Or something. Check them out, the kids in Round Rock think they're frickin' rock stars. That's me in the picture.

Los Reyes Atomicos- Another band I know. They're really cool. Rock/rap/alternative-type stuff in spanish. Awesome live shows. Everyone thinks they'll make it big. Go to a show and see why.
