Welcome to Cyber Cytez Help! In these pages, you can find help with nearly every thing in the Cyber Cyter Network. If you copy this page, please give me full credit for it and a link to one of my sites.

Chat Room - Every Cyber Cytez has a chat room. When you click on the button that says "Chat Room." You will be then be logged on to the chat room. You will notice that you will not have a name if you start typing. To get a name( called a handle) click on the button that says "get handle." You can fill out the form to register (FREE) or just sign in by typing in your password and handle.

Downloading - If the Cyber Cytez you're in has any downloads, you'll probably need WinZip, which can be downloaded for free from www.winzip.com .To download something, click on the link. If you're using Internet Explorer, click on "Save to file" from the menu that pops up, then select where you want the file to b saved and type in the file name that you want it to be called then click "Save." If you use Netscape Navigtor, then click "Save file" and then do the same as for Internet Explorer.

Links - Links are hotspots on the webpage, on if you click on it, it fill take you to a different page or another spot on the same page. The navigation menu on Cyber Cytez are all links.

GIF - A GIF is a format for a type of picture. It was made by CompuServe©. GIF's can be used to have transparencies, which means that you can see through some parts of the image and see the background. GIF's can be animated and be made into a short movie. They can be saved like normal pictures. The only thing bad about them is that thay can only display 256 colours.

JPEG - JPEG's are probably that most popular format for images on the internet. They can display 16 million colours.

Picture Galleries - Nearly all of the Cyber Cytez have picture galleries. Some of the provide thumb nails, while others don't. If thay provide thumb nails, the images will be links. If you use Internet Explorer and click on the picture. This will show you the larger image. If you use Netscape Navigator, then clicking on the small image will bring up the bigger image as well.

Saving backgrounds - If you want to save the background of a web page, move your cursor over to where there ISN'T any pictures or text then click with the right mouse button and select "Save Back ground as." A window will pop up asking you where you want to save and what name you want call the background. After chosing the name and location, click "Save." NOTE: All backgrounds are images. http://surf.to/ruffsand

Saving pictures - If you want to save a picture, move you cursor over the picture and click with the right mouse button. Then select "Save image as" or "Save picture as" from the menu. It will bring up a window asking you where you want to save the file and what do you want to call it. After you have chosen a file name and where you want to save, click "Save" to save the picture.

WinZip - WinZip is an archiving tool for Windows©. It compresses files into smaller files. A shareware version can be downloaded for free from www.winzip.com . For more information, see the read me file which comes with the program.
