Robert Slabaugh 1717 Mt. Pleasant Rd. Chesapeake, VA 23322 (757) 389-5366 Dear Sir/Madam, The advertisement that you have posted for a librarian caught my attention, as it sounds like your library would give me the opportunity that I seek to advance in my career. While relatively new to the library world, I believe that I can bring the knowledge that is needed to work in the libraries of today. With an ever- increasing focus on electronic transfer of information, the skills that I possess will greatly benefit the library in the changing sphere of librarianship. Along with my knowledge of how to create a web page through the use of HTML, comes the knowledge to make these creations interactive for library patrons. I also know how to work with such programs as Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft FrontPage, and Photoshop. I am also very adept at providing good customer service to the public that use the library, and, in fact, I can relate to you the philosophy that I have concerning customer service in the library realm. My experience with library patrons, in addition to my background in psychology, gives me an extra advantage when it comes to dealing with difficult people who use the library. In fact, I have actually received a thank you note from one library patron who was the recipient of such customer service. You can contact me at (757) 389-5366 so that we can discuss my qualifications for this particular position. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Robert Slabaugh |
