~ Saturday the 31st ~
Went down to the beach.  When we got there I asked for trot.  Titch and I were going too fast so he broke into a canter.  We cantered down the reserve, slowed to a walk and went down the bank (had to go down the hill beside it once).

~ Friday the 30th ~
He's been working really well this week so I decided to give him the day off.

~ Thursday the 29th ~
Went well, after our full circle of trot I took him out of the pen thing I had up and walked around the paddock once on each rein.

~ Wednesday the 28th ~
Went well, we did a full circle at trot today.

~ Tuesday the 27th ~
He didn't buck or anything today.  Still no canter and I think we won't canter till the end of the week.  WHen we first started trotting he only did 3-5 steps like last time but I only finished after I got a 1/2 circle at trot.

~ Monday the 26th ~
When we first started trotting he was being really stupid, cantering and bucking everytime he got to the far end of the circle.  I think he was energetic because he's just moved into a greener paddock.  We didn't canter today but we did a little trot ridden.  I asked him to trot like I normally do on the lunge, it took 1/4 of the circle for him to start and we just did about 3-5 strides of trot.  On the other rein it took about five circles to get him to trot!

~ Sunday the 25th ~
The ground was still too slippery to canter and I don't want to try trot with me riding until the ground is good.  He went very well today so I hope the ground is better tomorrow.

~ Saturday the 24th ~
Same as last working.  After working him I started teaching him the turn on the forehand in-hand.  He usually just did turn on the centre but we got a couple of steps on each rein before I put him away.

~ Friday the 23rd ~
The weather was too bad.

~ Thursday the 22nd ~
It was raining all day but there was a break just as I got home from school so I could work him.  The ground was too wet to canter so we just did trotting.  He is getting good with me riding him but the circle was really muddy so we either went round the outside of the track or on the inside.

~ Wednesday the 21st ~
The weather was too bad.

~ Tuesday the 20th ~
We went down to the beach today.  We went off the small bank first and he did that no problem.  We then went up the beach walking and trotting, sometimes trotting through water (he didn't want to at the start but he did after awhile).  We then came up and trotted over this tiny little log that was only about 10cm high, it took a couple of tries to get him trotting over it.  We then came up on to the reserve and tried to go through a muddy puddle.  He wouldn't but after a couple of minutes he put his hoof in but he could just step over it!  Then we tried to go down a little bank but about twice as big as the one we went off at the start.  He wouldn't go down it so I had to get off Titch and try and lead him down it.  He still wouldn't so I lunged him a bit and then tried again.  He finally went down after going down this little hill beside about nine times and then went down the bank fine.

~ Sunday the 18th ~
Went better at canter today.  When I was riding he spooked a bit but stopped when I asked him to.  I think he is on the bit when we are walking, and he has nice bend so I can see his inside eye.

~ Saturday the 17th ~
Went ok at canter.  We started changing the rein through the circle, he is getting the hang of it but stops once before he turns in, and once before he turns back out.

~ Friday the 16th ~
Went well at walk and trot, I think he will from now on so I won't tell about that!  He didn't go that well at canter.  When I got on him and asked him to walk on, he wouldn't.  A friend told me to tap tap with the whip (annoying) and he learns that it will go away once he walks.  My arm was getting too sore so I gave him a smack with it, not too hard though.  He started walking after that and actually walking out not this slow walk he does.  I think I was clicking a bit too much and he started trotting so I said "woah" and he stopped!  Now he's going nicely and not trying to stop every 10 seconds!

~ Thursday the 15th ~
Same as yesterday.  Mum wouldn't lunge me today so I had to ride him off it!  He wasn't really sure about it but after he got round once without stopping (took a while) we turned around and went in the other direction.  Took about the same time to get round once.

~ Wednesday the 14th ~
Went well at walk and trot and ok at canter.  I think he is just about understanding the aids to walk on.  Might get it tomorrow, if not probably friday.

~ Tuesday the 13th ~
I ponied him along the beach today.  We did some trotting, he didn't want to at first but he was soon trotting fine.  I tried to take him down a bank but he wouldn't, so he went down the little hilly thing beside the banks.  When coming off the beach at a different place, I found some smaller banks so took him up and down it once.

~ Monday the 12th ~

I ponied him to Pony Club but I didn't work with him.  Next time maybe I will ride!

~ Saturday the 10th ~
Not very good weather so I couldn't work him.

~ Friday the 9th ~
Went well at walk and trot.  Not very well at canter on the left rein which was probably because we started on that rein and hadn't cantered for a while.  Good on the right rein.  When I was riding him, mum had to go and check on something that was cooking so she left me on him standing there, so I asked him to turn around and he did!  He now is stopping when I ask him to without the voice.  He should start obeying me asking him to walk on soon.

~ Thursday the 8th ~
Went well, still didn't canter today.  Today when mum was lunging me I started giving aids with my hands, seat and legs and backing up with the voice.  He isn't yet responding to my hands, seat and legs but I think if I use them every time I use the voice he will start obeying them.

~ Wednesday the 7th ~
For his warm-up when he started trotting he cantered around and on the right rein he fell!!  It was just his back legs slipped and he didn't injure himself thank god!  After that he went fine at walk and trot with side-reins, I didn't risk canter as he might fall again.  I got on him and mum lunged me around at walk.  Tomorrow she'll lunge me at walk again and on Saturday will probably try a trot.

Won't be working him again until Wednesday as I am getting ready for an ODE with Titch on Monday.

The weather wasn't too good so we didn't do any work today.
