~ Wednesday the 30th ~
The weather wasn't too good so we didn't do any work today.

~ Tuesday the 29th ~
Went well at walk and trot with the side-reins but I didn't canter today.  Mum was home early so she led me around the lunging circle at a walk.  He was quite tense at first but after a few circuits he relaxed and I think he ignored that I was there!

~ Monday the 28th ~
Went well at walk and trot with the side-reins and went ok at canter.  I sat on him for 10 minutes after lunging.

~ Sunday the 27th - Afternoon ~
We did a longer warm up and he went very well with the side-reins at trot.  He held it for three circuits on each rein and that's all I asked for!

~ Sunday the 27th - Morning ~
He went great!  At the start he wouldn't put his down at trot on the right rein and wouldn't hold it for that long on the left.  After we had done our usual routine, I put the side-reins back on at trot and he came onto it practically straight away!  I didn't ask him to hold it for long though, only about two strides.

~ Saturday the 26th - Afternoon ~
The side-reins are perfect (on the last hole!) but he isn't putting his head down vertical so I did some extra work with him at the trot.  About every 3 to 5 rounds he put his head down so after about the third time we stopped.

~ Saturday the 26th - Morning ~
I put nine extra holes in the side-reins but they're still too long for him at trot!  I am going to put in six more.

~ Friday the 25th - Afternoon ~
Same as this morning.  Tomorrow I will put some extra holes in the side-reins so that there is contact at trot.

~ Friday the 21st - Morning ~
I lunged him at walk, trot and canter and he was great!  After that I sat on him for 10 minutes and he was perfect!  I asked my sister to lunge him this afternoon and she won't so I'll ask my mother when she gets back which is next tuesday so she could start on wednesday.

He has had Monday to Thursday off because the tack hasn't been with him.

~ Sunday the 20th ~
I ponied him to pony club today and he was very good being ponied apart from he was twice as slow as Titch!  At pony club everyone was admiring him and say really nice things about him.  I didn't do anything with him at pony club and he was calling out to Titch about every 10 seconds!  I left Titch at the grounds so I had to lead him home.

~ Saturday the 19th ~
Same as yesterday afternoon but was better on the lunge.

~ Friday the 18th - Afternoon ~
Wasn't as good on the lunge this afternoon but was very good while I sat on him for 10 minutes.

~ Friday the 18th - Morning ~
Went very well on the lunge, he did not be stupid at all.  After lunging I got on him and sat on him for five minutes in the yard.

~ Thursday the 17th ~
The lunging at canter went well apart from he was a bit stupid on the left rein when coming past where Titch was.  My sister Adele lunged him a bit so she could lunge him with me riding.  I got on him and started walking in a circle and after about three strides he took off at a canter/gallop through the paddock gate, then through another paddock gate and started heading down the drive.  I though he was going to jump the cattlestop but he stuck his head down and did about two bouncy canter strides to a stop.  I came off and he was a good boy and just stood there.  Once Adele had come I got on him again and just stood there and then hopped off.  I will probably sit on him in our small yard where he can't do anything but turn around tightly.

~ Wednesday the 16th - Afternoon ~
Went ok, he looked a bit tired when we started.  It took a couple of laps to start canter on the left rein and he was a bit stupid on the right.

~ Wednesday the 16th - Morning ~
Was perfect starting the canter, but played up a bit when coming past Titch on the right rein but after that we stopped once he had done a full lap.

~ Tuesday the 15th ~
I gave him the day off today.

~ Monday the 14th - Afternoon ~
Went very well on the left rein but pulled out a bit and nearly tried to turn around.  I think he thought better of it though!

~ Monday the 14th - Morning ~
Started canter no problem.  It is maintaining the canter that's the problem now!  He was stupid on the right rein once when he was coming past where Titch was.

~ Sunday the 13th - Afternoon ~
Was much better this afternoon!  He was only stupid once on each rein instead of three or more!

~ Sunday the 13th - Morning ~
Was a bit better this morning, but he still isn't going that well at canter.

~ Saturday the 12th - Afternoon ~
Was a bit better this afternoon but has reversed his good side, so was going well on the left but not so well on the right.

~ Saturday the 12th - Morning ~
Same as yesterday but went into canter faster.

~ Friday the 11th ~
He is cantering quite well on the right rein but makes a fuss on the left rein.  He pulls out and tries to turn around.  Sort of like he did when we first started trotting.

~ Thursday the 10th ~
Was a little bit better than yesterday.

~ Wednesday the 9th ~
Was going well till I asked for the canter.  He would NOT canter!  He tried turning around and going the other way some times and after about the 3rd time I let him and started cantering so then I stopped him and he was a bit nervous I think so he took off at a canter.

~ Tuesday the 8th ~
He went exceptionally well today and I will start canter tomorrow if he goes well.

~ Monday the 7th ~
Took the side-reins up 1 notch.  He wasn't going too well until I took them off.  So I will do a little work with them on then take them off each session until he is going well in them.  Won't start canter work till he does.

~ Sunday the 6th ~
We started work again today.  Put the side-reins up so there was very light contact on his mouth, and lunged him with that.  He went very well today, so I might start canter on the lunge tomorrow!
