PAPERS PRESENTED
1. Rapid Product Development, at the second state ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) paper presentation contest, Hubli, India, 2005.
-- discussed time-compression techniques throughout a product development cycle. Discussed the role of QFD, FMEA & FTA, CAD/CAM/CAE, Rapid Prototyping, and Virtual Simulations in reducing the no. of prototypes for testing, and in turn, cutting costs without compromising product quality.
2. Power MEMS, at "Cognition", a paper presentation contest organised and judged by Larsen and Toubro Ltd., Bangalore, India, 2005.
-- described current research in the field of micro engines - focusing on the Mini-Wankel engine and the Micro Gas-Turbine engine. Elaborated the difference in macro and micro level analyses for structural, thermal, fluidic and manufacturing considerations. Discussed current breakthroughs and challenges faced for progress.
ADDITIONAL COURSES
1. "Encourage Talented Young Engineers" (ETYE), 2004-05, at the M-CAD centre, M S Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies, Bangalore
Course Contents - CAD, CAM, Reverse Engineering, Rapid Prototyping, FEM.
Laboratory Modules - CATIA V5, ANSYS.
Assignments
· 3-D Modeling and generation of clash analysis report of a Pedestal Bearing, using CATIA. · Simulation of the manufacturing process of an axisymmetric part using CADEM, and optimisation of process parameters. · Modal Analysis of Vehicle Disc Brake Rotor using ANSYS - identification of the first five natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes.
