I am a hard-to-describe simple-looking (don’t tell me looks can be deceptive) person who's currently doing his BE in Mechanical Engineering at R V College of Engineering. I was born in Dharwad, a city in northern Karnataka, India in '84. Spent my early childhood in Dharwad and Mysore before my father was transferred to Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand (former Bihar). After 5 years of primary education there, I came back to my birthplace, and did my high schooling and pre-university studies there, and now am in Bangalore, on my way to be an engineer. I have studied in as many as 7-8 schools (no, wasn't expelled every 2 years; there were different reasons, and the choice was mostly ours) and a couple of colleges, in Jharkhand and Karnataka, and made a good many friends, and not many of them have forgotten me yet. Table Tennis is still one of my loves, though I don't get to play as much as I'd love to. For that matter, I love playing any sport that I can get to play ( and NO, sumo wrestling is NOT a sport). I like reading books, fiction and non-fiction (am told there’s this category in between the two, ‘semi-fiction’ - Richard Nixon’s autobiography? - not sure.). I also find books on Spirituality and Current Affairs very interesting. I like channel surfing (pretty fast at that - a surfing speed of 72 channels per minute just about equals my pulse rate) besides, of course, just lazing around. Not much else to me really. My best performance at academics was a close second way back in high school, and though played for the school Cricket and Table Tennis teams, never won beyond the district level. How long could a leg spinner sustain himself on full-tosses without getting clobbered ? That probably also explains why I shifted over to TT. A safe sport, no fear of leather damaging glasses and bones, and great fun and challenging to play. Won quite a few quiz contests at city and state levels, but there too I was lucky enough to be alongside some great minds, who did all the hard work while I was glad enough to let them do the talking. Came second at the KTSE, the state level equivalent of the National Talent Search Examination, one of my few solo achievements. Tried hand at a couple of paper presentation contests at college, and even managed to win at one. Can play a few patriotic tunes on the keyboard, and beyond that, I am not sure you'd want to listen. |
