ABOUT RUBY ROSE

I am the leader of a Crochet For Charity group. We are a group of senior ladies and we make laprobes for the local nursing home and babyghans for the local Ronald McDonald House.

I enjoy all kinds of crochet, and make more than my family can use. I have a large craft room which I have ample supply of yarn, thread and patterns. I also keep my computer and sewing machine in this room. It is one of those rooms that men rarely cross the threshold!

This is a very important room in my life as sometimes I am unable to get out among crowds.

I belong to the "HappyGhan" crochet list and have friends from all over the world, whom are as close to me as next door neighbors. I enjoy visiting with each of them daily, as I am limited in my social activities by a severe sensitivity to fragrances.

I have MCS, which means I am more sensitive to chemicals than the average person. This began in 1974, from a toxic chemical spill. For many years, I just kept getting weaker. Sometimes I would think I had the flu with all the aches and pains. Finally, thru a lady who owns a health food store, I began to learn about my problem.

Gradually, I learned what was causing my problems and how to help avoid them. I am still limited to mild activities. Thankfully, now there is information available on MCS, but no cure except to stay away from places with fragrances, and persons who wear fragrances.
