She began to suffer what was then explained as sinusitis, bronchitis which would go into near-pneumonia and flu like symptoms.
Eventually, she found a health food store owner who knew about chemical sensitivities. She helped her with supplements to improve the immune system. She became a little stronger. She then found an allergist who told her that the allergy tests would not be accurate due to the stabilizers in the allergen solutions. Apparently, her sensitivities would react to the stabilizers and not the allergens. The allergist supplied her with information to react and help in finding out what caused the reactions.
Everyone with MCS react differently to chemicals. Learning what works and what doesn't has been a lot of trial and error. She found out a very important reaction when I took a generic prescription drug and had serious reactions. I now know I must only take name brand prescriptions due to stabilizers and preservatives that are used in the generics. She still has a hard time convincing her local pharmacist of these facts.
And there are people who do not feel others have problems with chemical reactions and continue to encroach on those with this immune deficiency with their heavy doses of fragrances, smoke, and other items that continue to cause problems with their immune system making them sometimes seriously ill.
