The University's vision statement aligns itself with the belief in a strong
science foundation.
The vision statement says, "Benedictine University is a Catholic University
in the Benedictine Tradition that Provides a Values-Centered Liberal Arts Education
Enriched by Our
Excellence in Science."
Although Benedictine University prides itself on being a "science school,"
the University carries strengths in all areas of study. The University offers
forty-two academic undergraduate programs divided into three areas: the College
of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, Technology and Professional Programs
and the School of Education.
Benedictine is home to 2,044 undergraduate students, along with 765 graduate students. Out of the undergraduate students, 1,417 are traditional full-time students. The school boasts a 75 percent retention rate among freshmen and a student to faculty ratio of 13:1.
