The Rowdy Pards' Mission Statement

Our mission is to accurately recreate an infantry company of the period 1861 to 1865, specifically, from 1862 to 1865, in our two primary impressions:  eastern theater Confederate infantry  (we're proud to be in Dave Pridgeon's 5th Battalion for our Army of Northern Virginia impression) and Federal infantry (we're equally proud to be members of the Potomac Legion) - as well as our alternate western theater (Army of Tennessee) Confederate infantry impression.

We believe the highest possible level of individual and unit authenticity and historical accuracy are essential to living history and reenacting - but these begin with YOUR ATTITUDE - and not just your clothes.
 
•  A reenactor with a positive attitude toward authenticity and historic accuracy; a commitment to doing it right; who is aware of the problems with his impression; and who is trying to do the most authentic impression he can, is always welcome in our ranks.
•  Based on our mission to accurately portray the life, society, and culture of the 1860s, we will make as few concessions to the present era as we possibly can (within the bounds of common sense and safety).


We understand some families may want to participate.  We encourage them to do so in our civilian organization "The Citizens."  Civilian living historians should have the same high standards of historic accuracy and authenticity.

The Pards are set up as a military organization. As a volunteer you are asked to submit to that amount of military disciple and organization necessary to transform a group of individuals into an efficient, responsive, and coordinated team.
