Day 13 started of strange. We hit the road right away before breakfast and gas. We had to leave Williams on the Expressway. We turned off on the Devil Dog Road exit, only to find a dirt road. We followed the signs to get back on I-40 West, but it put us on I-40 East. We ended up right back where we started. Once we got past that little pitfall, we were on our way.

We got to Seligman, Arizona late morning. We stopped at the Snow Cap--a

Route 66 Classic. The owner was hilarious! He got me with the squirting mustard bottle. He was a real card. He offered us used napkins. He served a lady a cup of coffee with a huge rubber bug in it. We stopped for Sunday brunch on the west end of town and then we were off.

I decided that I would be brave enough to handle riding up Oatman Hill. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! The road twisted and turned up the mountain. There were hair pin turns and huge drop-offs. We make it to Oatman, Arizona--the town where wild burrows roam the street. It was a neat town with old buildings and lots of shops to visit.

When we came out of the mountains we crossed the Colorado River and we were in California. We saw some really cool bridges and some old alignments on the California side of the river.
