We did our trip a little different today. We went from Williams, Arizona to the Grand Canyon, and back to Williams for the night. Since it was Saturday, we decided that we should get an early start for the Canyon to beat the crowds. We got up early and I drove.

We got there before 9 a.m. and stopped at the first observation point we came to--Mather Point (we were excited to see the canyon).  We then drove over to the Grand Canyon Village (not too far). We were not as impressed there.

I told Jerry that I though the prettiest view was at the East Rim by the Desert Watch Tower. I was about 30 miles to get there, but the drive was spectacular! We were mostly in the forest, but once in a while we could see the Canyon. We finally made it and the view was gorgeous!!

After we saw that view we headed back to the South Rim.  On the way back, we stopped at most of the vantage points along the way.

We headed back to Williams, first stopping at the IMAX Theater outside Park to see Grand Canyon the Hidden Secrets.

Photo by Jerry and not from the movie.

We went back to the motel to relax a little before dinner at Rod's Steak House. We stopped at the Route 66 Magazine Shop again. Sandi gave us a Route 66 Bear as a wedding gift (we did just spend a ton of money there getting all the back issues!).
