| Treasure Box What you need: *Cardboard *Paint, Crayons, Markers, and other things to decorate your box with *Scissors *Glue and/or Tape *Ruler *Yarn or ribbon What to do: 1. Cut 1 piece of cardboard that is 6 in. by 4 in. for the bottom of the box. (Piece A) 2.Cut 2 pieces of cardboard that are 4 in. by 3 in. for the sides of the box. (Piece B) 3. Cut 1 piece of cardboard that is 6 in. by 3 in. for the front of the box. (Piece C) 4. Cut 1 piece of cardboard that is 12 in. by 6 in. for the back of the box and the lid. (Piece D) 5. Have an adult help you assemble pieces A,B,and C so it would look like a box without a back and lid. 6. Fold Piece D exactly in half. Glue or tape the bottom half to the back of the box. Now it will look like a box with a lid! 7. If the lid doesn't stay down, follow these steps: A. Have an adult make a hole on the lid that is close to the edge. B. Then have the adult make a hole on the front part of the box (Piece C) that is close to the top edge. Make sure both holes are aligned at the same place. C. Put a string through both of the holes. To close the box, just tie the two strings together. Decorate your treasure box!! |
| "Laminated" Pressed Flower Bookmark What you need: *Colored or white paper *Scissors *Heavy books *Wax paper *Wide tape *Glue *Flower petals What to do: 1. Lay a piece of wax paper on one of the books and put the petals on it. 2. Lay another piece of wax paper over the petals and put another heavy book or two on the top. 3.Allow 1 or 2 days for the petals to dry. 4. Cut a strip of paper as big as you would like your bookmark to be. 5. When the flower petals are dry, glue them on to the strip. 6. Cut a piece of tape as tall as the bookmark and tape it over the bookmark. Do the same with the back of the bookmark Funky Pens What you need: *A piece of fake fur *Fabric Scissors *A pen *A Feather or Feather Boa What to do: 1. Cut a wide piece of fur that is as long as the pen. 2. Wrap in around the pen and glue the ends together. For a neater way, have an adult sew them together for you. 3. If there is any excess fur, cut it off. 4. Take the feather or feater boa and glue it to the top of the pen. 5. Now you have a beautiful and funky pen that is cool and comfortable to hold!
