I first saw a beta coupe in a brouchure that a friend had, it was a red two door, looked great and a nice body, 2L engine, completely different to anything I had seen. I thought wow, whats that.
It was a 1984 Beta coupe. Beautiful.
A few years past and I had worked on a few money pits of my own, here they are in order of purchase:
~ 1984 Mitsubishi Cordia turbo - written off into a telegraph pole. Insurance gave me 4k back
~ 1974 ToyotaTA22 Celica - bought for 4k then sold, needed too much work.
~ 1983 Mazda RX7 turbo - payed 11.8K Blew a seal after accelerating slowly off the lights @ 7000rpm sold for 11.5 with a import 12a Turbo and bald tires, no rego, bad seats. Woohoo
~ 1996 Daewoo Cielo - eewwww yuk. Shitbox. Sold ( this was a mistake ) traded in for MX5.
~ 1981 Lancia Beta coupe - 1979 Lancia Beta coupe - 1984 Lancia Beta coupe, building one near perfect car out of 3. Now I have all the extra parts left over , so I am selling them all off.
~ 1984 Alfa Romeo 33 - I damaged the main bearing and sold the engine, I decided to play a little and install a Quad Cam 16v 1.7 engine out of a 1993 Alfa Romeo 33. - 3 months after I finished it , it was sold to a guy who wanted to race it in time trials , all for what > to pay for my yearly income Tax. :(
~ 1999 Mazda Mx5 - current daily driver. For a little while anyway. Never buy one of these cars. They are too small, no usable luggage space, bad build quality, rattles shakes and problems, roof jiggles when its down, yuk - the only good thing was the handling, even the power just wasnt there. Zoom Zum my ass.
~ 2001 4th August - Project Integrale has come to a close, I have no more time to play, and space is at a premium. I sold it for $4500 Aus , everything that had Lancia on it is now gone, thanks for watching this space if you have. I will try to get updates from the new owner if I see him again, and we will see if the dream has been passed on or not.
~ 2001 May - We also bought a black 2001 VW Golf - Sunroof, Eibach Lowered Springs. Stock standard but it looks nice.
~ 2001 September - BMW 325ci Coupe - Arrives Late August, built to my specs, pics coming soon. Got it. Drives very noce. As you would expect.?
~ 2002 October - Well people I am back, beleive it or not. ( Iknow I cant) anyhow, I have purchased a 3L Alfa 166 24valve V6. 235Hp in stock trim. What for ? Its going into a 1986 Alfa GTV6. Considering the car weighs in at 1100kg and the power is 250hp, you do the maths. Pics commin soon !
* Sold the Recaro Bucket seats, $900 - thank you very much.
* The Koni shocks have been taken to be rebuilt at Sydney Shock Absorbers, hmmmmmm, new shocks, that smooooth feeling.
* Getting ready to move out ! Finally no more lying on the black plastic, gimme cement and a proper garage. hmmm nice and toasty

* The Koni shocks have been in the eyes of prospective buyers latley, I am not sure what to do, I have spoken to the engineer and he has asked me to hold off on doing anything with the suspension. We firts need to know the weight of the car and its geometry before we start playing with spring rates and internal shock valving. We shall see.
* Moving out ! the first batch of Junk has made its way to the new place, oh the joy of moving, yuk.

* The subframe is going to have to go in, with the whole old system. So I can transport the car.
* I am chucking the brakes and discs, crap shitty brakes. Mazda RX7 Series IV 4 piston calipers are in the pipeline.
* WOA Big hit, 10 Grand out of poket, just put a full security system on the new place, car stuff will have to suffer for a little while until my hip pocket comes out of the coma. sheet. Just in time for my birthday. I love it.
*The Paafy pages have now started to have intrest in exporting used Lancia parts to the USA. Who knows whats in stall.
* Well another few hits to the hip pocket have left my bank account looking like a pamplona victim.

* Went out to Tempe on the weekend to the Fiat and Lancia show, nice cars and nice people, all in all a nice day out. I really shouldn't go to these shows as it depresses me to see these cars looking so nice, oh well, soon enough !
