Welcome to the Rotherham Teenagers to Work web site.

This site is aimed at providing interested young people and carers with information about the Teenagers to Work project and what it could do for them. It is also intended for prospective employers who may offer work placements to young people in local authority care. Our aim is to offer young people who are looked after by the local authority quality work experience and training to improve their chances of finding work.

Teenagers to Work is part of the Get Real Team and is a project set up to obtain work experience placements for young people aged 15-19 who are looked after by the local authority or who are care leavers. Initially, Rotherham was one of the few boroughs to implement this project and, as a result of this, there are now twelve young people in full-time employment and a number in work placements and part-time jobs. In 2004 there was a pilot project involving 10 young people. This provided full time employment and training within the borough's own departments and with external partners. (see "RTI").

When you have finished looking at this site, we would appreciate some feedback via the link in the above yellow box. Thank you.
