This project specialises in helping looked after children. If this is you, it makes sense to take advantage of the opportunity. There is a one-to-one initial assessment and, because we only work in this area, we have built up an understanding of your requirements. Work placements are then tailored to your individual needs and interests. However, you will need to meet the required criteria in order for you to progress to a work placement. This is designed to show us that you are ready to join the world of work. We offer workshops to help you meet these requirements.

We also work closely with companies offering placements to ensure that you have a good work experience. We can make managers understand that this is a learning experience for you and that we don’t expect you to get it right first time. Going into a placement shows your future boss in the world of work that you can commit to something that interests you and go on to worthwhile achievements.

You get the opportunity to try out work and "get it right" with us - rather than elsewhere where you won't get the same chances! You can enter a different world where you are part of a team. Team working is very important to potential employers. This is also a chance to start again for those who have not got it right so far. We all make mistakes and wrong choices; it's what we learn from these that’s important! The work placement will appoint a "Mentor" who will be your guide and reference point at work. This person will work very closely with us to ensure that you are given the best chance possible to succeed in the placement.

We can support you at a moments notice; where else could you get your own support worker with you within half an hour? We will do our best to make sure that you are offered training and that you will get as much good "stuff" as possible to put into your CV.
