Basic Instructions for the Knitting Loom

Circle Instructions

The circle instructions can be used for hats, balls, and other round projects.
1. First pick the size loom you'll need for the prodject.
2. Tie the end of Yarn to the edge Peg.
3. Pull the Yarn Between the first and last peg.
4. The First peg is to the right of the edge peg and the Last is to the left.
5. Wrap the yarn around the first peg, bringing the yarn a second time around the back.
6. Next start at the back of the next peg and go around again.
7. You should have one strand per row on each peg in the front and two in the back.
8. Continue to do this until all the pegs have been wrapped, then push the yarn down the side of the pegs about half way.
9. Wrap all the pegs a second time. (some patterns will call for a third time.)
10. With the yarn make a half hitch around the edge peg to keep the yarn in place.
11. Bring the bottom row of yarn up over the top row of yarn and the peg.
12. You should have one row of yarn on the pegs and one knitted row.
13. Make as many rows as you need.

Panel Instructions

The panel instructions are for things that aren't round like a scarf or dishcloth. These instructions can be used for a round or a straight loom!

1. Lightly tie the yarn on the edge peg.
2. Wrap around each peg needed for pattern.(As described in step 3-5 in above circle instructions)
3. Turn at the Last peg needed (Not making an extra loop.
4. Push yarn down about halfway
5. Wrap Yarn around the second to last peg and continue to the first peg used. (You will be wrapping in the opposite direction so that you never have more than one strand of yarn per row.)
6. When you have 2 rows of yarn done you will notice that all pegs will have 3 rows except 1 peg. That will be one of the end pegs. If it is the on on the right side, then next time it should be the one on the left side. 7. Place a half hitch on edge peg and Knit off (Pull bottom row of yarn over the tops of the pegs).
8. Make as many rows as needed.
