Commuter close, just 18 miles south of San Diego, California, half a mile from the Fox Baja Studios and Foxploration Theme Park, and across the road from Calafia. Located at km. 36 in Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico.
The property is located in Popotla, Rosarito Beach, about 18 miles south of the San Ysidro border crossing in San Diego, California. To get there from the border, it is adviseable to take the I-805, I-15, or I-5 south, and cross at San Ysidro. Once you have crossed the border, migrate to the far right, and follow the signs that direct you to the "Scenic Highway Road", a toll-road south to Rosarito and Ensenada.

After making a cloverleaf-style turn, the road parallels the border for about two miles, then heads up and down a steep hill where you will be alerted to exit to the right. The sign for this road reads "Scenic Highway". Approximately two miles later you will pass through the toll booth (approximately US$2). The toll areas have clean restrooms. Continue on the toll road, for about eight miles, to the Rosarito exits.

There are four exits into Rosarito. Take the last exist just before the second toll booth, following the signs that read "La Paloma, Popotla, Calafia, Las Rocas." This is the free road to Ensenada, on which you will drive approximately 5 miles. Once you pass Foxploration and the large white monument entrance to the fishing village (both on the right-hand side toward the ocean), you will come upon the Military checkpoint. Take an immediate left (under the freeway) and follow the road to your right, the one that parallels the highway until you come to the peach and white colored house enclosed by the white fence and security gates. The addresses are: 10236 and 10238 Cabo San Lucas Road. You will see the Calafia towers ahead to your right.
Take the Ensenada-Rosarito toll road, and exit just prior to the second toll booth. Follow the signs to "La Paloma, Popotla, Califia", for about 5 miles. Right after passing Fox Baja Studios and the entrance to the fishing village, turn left, under the freeway. If you get to Calafia, you have gone too far.
POINTS TO
REMEMBER . . .

1.
Make sure you have Mexican car insurance. Tem-porary policies (for periods from 24 hours to one year)
can be purchased either
before crossing the border in San Ysidro or immediately
after crossing the border in Tijuana. Also available at insurance agencies
in Rosarito.

2.
The border crossing at
SanYsidro is open 24 hours a day,
365 days a year. Farther east, the
Otay Mesa crossing is open daily, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.  A third border crossing in Tecate is open from 6 a.m. to midnight. The freeway from Tecate to Rosarito
is scheduled to be completed
very soon.

3.
As you cross the border,
a red light or a green light
will be randomly activated.
If you get a green light, proceed without stopping.
If you get a red light, you
will be directed to a customs inspection area. This random and arbitrary inspection
allows the authorities to look for drugs, contraband, large ticket items on which taxers should be paid, and guns and/or weapons. They may ask you to open the trunk of your car of simply ask you a few questions. When they
see you have none of the above taboo items, you will
be waved through.

As you depart the customs inspection area, keep right, making sure you stay under the "Ensenada/Rosarito
Scenic Route" signs.

4.
Dont worry if you miss your exits. Before arriving at the
second toll booth on the Scenic Highway, you can still exit to the
free road through the Pemex gas station (where there is an
AM/PM Mini Market, just like the ones in the U.S.). Cut through
to the free road, taking a left south. If you miss the last exist
and want to go through the toll booth, take the next exit south.
This exit will read "Puerto Nuevo." Get off the toll road here.
Turn right at the intersection and take the free road
heading north to Rosarito.
