About Us The Researchers David Bolha
Dave graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Natural Resources emphasis. Currently, he is working as a Natural Resource Research Technician with the Wisconsin DNR. Prior to participating in the Root River project, he studied the macroinvertebrate, macrophyte, and zooplankton communities of Pewaukee Lake, in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, during the summer of 2002. He also observed and recorded the natural reproduction of the muskellunge community of Pewaukee Lake in the spring of 2002.
Angela Ortenblad
Angie is a senior at Wisconsin Lutheran College working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Natural Resources emphasis. During the summer of 2004, she will again sample the fish and macroinvertebrate communities of the Root River to determine improvement or further degradation of the aquatic system.
Dr. Robert Anderson
Dr. Anderson has been a Professor of Biology at Wisconsin Lutheran College since 1993; he is also the current Assistant Dean of Faculty Development. He received a Bachelor of Science degree at Michigan State University and a P.h.D. in fish biology also at Michigan State University. Prior to moving to Wisconsin, he taught at West Shore Community College in Scottville, Michigan, for five years. Dr. Anderson’s research interests include biological monitoring of streams and lakes and tracking muskellunge with radio telemetry.

Identification of macroinvertebrates and the composition of the technical report occurred at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Natural Resources Laboratory, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. WLC is an accredited, four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
