The trip to Kerry as remembered by one j.p.

Today is the 19th or 20th of Christmas, and as we actually drove down to Kerry like 2 months ago, im going to have to do some serious thinking to remember this. Well lets see now, I was lying in bed last nite, trying to think of a reason not to fire off, then it occurred to me that Brian had been asking me to write a report on my collect a stone trips with the lads. So I was just thinking what I would write (just in case you were wondering, I didnt fire off after, I didnt see the point in it cos I was so excited about what I would write).

The day started I think some time in the morning when I woke up and got out of bed. I cant remember but im sure it was raining in limerick for the whole 3 or 4 months I was there, so lets say it was. It was a Wednesday, and I dont remember ever anything I did in collage, so ill skip to about 6 o clock, I must have got a phone call or something maybe I was told about it before. I was down in Brian and peekers house at 7ish. I went down to the shop and bought a packet of jammy dodgers and 10 silk cuts for the journey. At this stage I thought we were going to donegal or somewhere, and that was fine. When I saw we were heading out to cahair clonlish I had a minor panic attack: WERE THE FUCK ARE WE GOING says I, DONEGAL IS ON THE OTHER FUCKING SIDE OF THE COUNTRY IF I AM TO BE CORRECT IN MY PRESUMPTIONS ON OUR TRAJECTORY FROM POINT A TO POINT B and Brian and pecker was 2 busy minding the road to listen to me, colm was navigating, and Dave was probably too spaced out to know what was going on.
This is a picture of us before the trip, thats me in the blue shirt.
We drove down some lane that there seemed to be a puddle of water at the end of it. The boys informed me that that loch gur, john!. Wow fucking brilliant says I ive never seen a real life lake in the dark before! (I know that doesnt make sense but sure I cudnt see nothing) anyway I forgot to mention that there was a car pulled up on the lane in and if they were any good the people inside would have been riding each other silly.

So we arsed round the place for a while, we tried to walk up a hill, but a big bunch of cattle told us not to. We walked back to the car, I had a fag, and we picked up our limerick stone then left for to find a stone in
Kerry.
Me standing outside Brians house before we left, inspecting the state of the roof.
This is an artists impression of my limerick stone.
