I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out to the Pirate Regatta. I think I have just about dried off from the on the water battles, although I am sure my cockpit cushions are still dripping onboard Astraeus.
A special thanks to Stephanie Rush for all her hard work in organizing the events for the club. When you see her be sure to let her know how much you appreciate her effort, without her, chaos would overwhelm our events.
FYI the Oktoberfest event is canceled for next month, unless someone wants to step up and handle the event. If you are so inclined, let me know and I will forward all the information you need to contact members and access the club dock box.
REMINDER: The end of our year is 12/31/08, this means dues and voting. It would be nice to see some new blood step up for board positions this year.
Thanks again, our next scheduled event is an Italian themed dinner in November.

Avast ye maties!!
It be time for the pirate regatta
Saturday, September 20 it the RYC annual Pirate Regatta. The plan for this year is pretty much the same as last year (cause your commodore ain't that creative, and is a bit lazy). We will get out on the water either late morning or ealy afternoon, depending on when we get some wind (ATTENTION POWERBOATERS!!! THIS IS NOT A SAIL ONLY EVENT, I WANT TO SEE SOME OF YOU BURN SOME GAS THIS YEAR). As with years past, arm yourselves with squirt guns (no water balloons please, not worth damaging biminis or clogging raw water intakes).
Dinner will be around 6pm (wear your favorite pirate garb), unless the weather is so fantastic that we can't get the sailors back to the marina (changes in schedule will be announced on channel 68, so keep a VHF with you). The club will be cookin up; "pirate" chili, a lot like regular chili, but with a bit more arrrrgggghhhh in it. Members are encouraged to bring sides to share.
Please RSVP with a head count and dish you are bringing so that we can scrape up enough slop for all you scallywags.
