Fences Lesson 7
Journal:
How mothers and sons often relate because sometimes the mother can be more understanding than the father. I guess they feel they have to protect them too. Like Cory stuck up for rose when she got into an argument with Troy. I think its the exact opposite for fathers and daughters. Some girls are way more attached to their fathers. I'm more close to my father than my mother. I find that he understands me better than my mother does. Fathers and sons usually have that bond because the son usually wants to be like his father.

Fences Lesson 8
Journal:
A person I didn’t want to be like was my god brother Kevin. I never wanted to be like him because he is a bum. He never finished school, and he is twenty nine years old and he still lives with his mother. On top of all of that he doesn't have a job. All he does is cause trouble for his mother. Everyone tells him to get a job ant help his mother out, but he just ignores everyone and does what he wants. In my opinion he is a lost case.

That Corry dropped his job at the A&P to play football and that he never went back to try to get his job back.

Troy is very similar to his father because he was also irresponsible and harsh like his father. He also didn't know how to love.

I think it affects their relationship allot because Troy treats Cory like his father treated him. Troy shows no love to Cory and that makes Cory hate his father because you could tell that he feels unwanted.

He destroyed Cory's plans because he was trying to protect him from getting hurt because he thought that they were going to turn down Cory like they turned him down.
HW #8 Write a well-organized paragraph describing what Rose might have done if Fences took place in 2003...
If Fences took place in 2003 Rose would have put Raynell in a foster home and then she would have buried Troy. After that she would have sold the house. Then she probably would have moved away to Florida with Gabriel so he could be happy and she could take care of him.
