Sleeping With Our Bikes

At the motel, we hooked up with the lost group, plus another rider we knew from the Sport-Touring.net website.  Todd, was also a local so he showed us around his town by making us walk a mile over a small hill on a road with no sidewalks......in the dark......as the cars passing by swerved to avoid hitting us suicidal SOBs.  Then, when we reached the other side of the hill, the same people who wanted to check out places to eat decided to turn around and walk back to suicide hill!  Suffice it to say, I was tired, sweating, and hungry, yet forced to march over on a narrow road, in the dark, with cars only inches away as they passed. I was loving every moment of it....NOT!  Hah-hah!

We ended up eating dinner at this foo-foo, pseudo-gourmet, Italian restaurant right across from our motel.  The food WAS delicious and well presented.  Each dish looked straight out of The Food Channel, but the pricing was outrageous! $20+ a plate for anything with a cooked animal in it.  If you wanted to slum it by spending $15 or less, your choices were salad and salad.  And the bastards didnt even refill my Coke even after I asked for it!  I hate foo-foo restaurants like that.  A few of us would have been happy with Taco Bell.

After dinner, we went back to our hotel to bullshit a little.  Ken, Russ and I, brought our bikes inside our motel rooms for safekeeping.  Sorry to say that the ZZR1200 guys had to settle for outside parking because their bikes were too big to fit through the door of their motel rooms.  I have never slept with my motorcycle before.  It was quite an experience.  I slept soundly while my VFR800 stayed warm and dry right at the foot of my bed.  I love you too sweety. [Kiss] Tee-hee.

Below:  Since our rooms were so large, Ken brought his Guzzi inside.  Well, I just had to do it.  My VFR800 got to sleep very well that night.  Safe, warm, and dry by my bedside!
