| After several attempts to rendezvous with the lost group via voice mail on cell phones (oh brother!), I decided enough is enough. I was tired and I wanted off my bike! No more lane splitting for this fool! In addition, I discovered a staple stuck to my rear tire! Grrrrr....... Luckily, the staple must have just gotten there and hadnt imbedded itself so I quickly pulled it out. [the tire held air throughout the trip] Frustrated with rush hour traffic and tired from over 12 hours of riding, I decided to let the lost group catch up to us later and I lead Ken into downtown San Francisco toward the Golden Gate Bridge where we caught the fading |

| Above: Asking for directions in San Jose. We were getting frustrated trying to find the lost group. A friendly local did give us the right directions but it was getting late and I wanted to get pictures of the Golden Gate while it was still day time. |
| afternoon light for some lovely photos of the bridge. It was my first time riding my motorcycle across the Golden Gate and I felt a wave of inspiration as I looked at those towering suspension cables running up to the top. It was quite humbling being that small on such a large monument of American accomplishment. The view was awesome!
After the photo op at the Golden Gate Bridge lookout, Ken and I rode north to Mill Valley and found a nice motel with big rooms for $60/night. |

Left: Me posing by the bridge. We finally made it to San Francisco and crossed the Golden Gate! There was just something about crossing the bridge on a motorcycle. I just had to do it! |
Right: Ken is all smiles as he poses by one of the Golden Gate Bridge overlooks. It was a great way to end a long riding day! |
