In the spring of 2008, I had an accident while riding my 2001 VFR800 in the mountains of Southern California.  It was a minor lowside but the bike sustained enough damage to be relegated to a total loss by my insurance company.  I replaced that VFR with this one.  My experience with my '01 model spoiled me.  It was difficult to find a better bike that had the total balance I was looking for.  The 2007 VFR800 is the most updated version of the 6th Generation VFR.  Thus, like my '01, my '07 represents the best of its type--a fully developed motorcycle that have almost no flaws to begin with.  Sure.  There are faster, lighter, more exotic bikes out there.  But in my opinion, the VFR is the best balanced motorcycle out there.

The 2007 VFR800 represents only an evolutionary improvement over the previous generation.  However, the differences are quite noticeable.  The 6th generation VFR is smoother, even more refined, and has a stronger low and mid-range torque.  In addition, the chassis has seen much improvement.  It is more rigid and more capable of handling aggressive riding in the twisty roads.  The downside is more weight--about 38 more pounds!  The additional torque down low and lower gearing help the 6th generation VFR overcome the weight gain.

Honda also updated the looks of its most current VFR to reflect the changing tastes of today's enthusiasts.  Flat black or semgloss black is used on most everything except the body.  The wheels are also flat black instead of the traditional sportbike wheel color of gloss black.  If not for the red white and blue 25th Anniversary colors, this bike would almost be completely stealth!
