Rockman Power Soak by SR&D

I believe this is the unit that started it all for SR&D. The power soak is device that you would place between your Marshall head and the cabinet to attenuate to power delivered to the speakers. This allows you to crank the amp but maintain a reasonable sound level.

Although I bought the Rockman power soak for my 73 Marshall head I used it quite a bit on my Fender blackface princeton.

The power soak was purely resistive and to tell the truth I always got a little nervous using the thing. I still had to go through the hassle of miking up a cabinet.

That's why I started to investigate direct recording devices like the H&K redbox, Rockman Sustainors, SansAmps and the Behringer V-amp.
