| Baxter the Amazing Wombat Presents Issue 9 - 1/2 size, 44 pages, cardstock cover, $1 Issue 9 contains Meg's journal-style writings covering her freshman year of college, which didn't go very well. This issue was produced at the same time as issue 10, and then compliment each other very well. (window blinds can be stars if we let ourselves believe. the shadows they cast on the wall form our skylight. the stars are streaking the sky in lines. what a fantastic occurence. we are the only ones who get to see this, laying on an awkward bed. your face is so close to me when you wish for a skylight to see the stars. you are warm. i know nothing about the future. i know little about who we really are as an idea of together. but if i was given the choice to pick this moment as forever, i think i would. i don't care if the stars are fake, if shadows make a poor window. you are warm but more importantly, your idea did not let my hopes down. being here in this moment is the culmination of so many of my hopes of love. sometimes i know why i believe.) |

| Baxter the Amazing Wombat Presents Issue 10 - 1/2 size, 82 pages, Japanese-style hand binding, cardstock cover, $3 More of Meg's journal writing from her Uber Trip to Colorado for the summer, a Dead Fish comic, a Jimmy story, mini band interviews (Enon, Ben Kweller, OKGo, The Super Madrigal Bros., Momus, The Bangs, The Vines, and The Hackensaw Boys), some CD reviews, and other randomness. This issues goes well with issue 9, as they balance each other out. "the crash back. a sort of bland taste, but warm. dirt. coming back to dirt, coming from dirt...dirt can't taste that much different from kissing, they aren't particularly sour or sweet or bitter tastes. trip on a rock, trip on your tongue...fall flat. reality is a crash like bodies crash an dmouths and words and words into mouths trying to speak or laugh while kissing while falling speak while falling and maybe people will notice. speak speak type. i love words like i love skin, or plaid pants, or incongruities, but words aren't kisses. write in the dirt. |
